Quantum Invariants
The aim of this reading group is to learn the theory of quantum invariants of knots and 3-manifolds following T. Ohtsuki’s ‘Quantum invariants. A study of Knots, 3-Manifolds, and their sets’.
Starting from category theory (ribbon and modular tensor categories), we move on to Ribbon Hopf algebras and Quantum Groups, and how to obtain invariants from this machinery. Finally, we will focus on specific quantum invariants, like Vassiliev invariants and Reshetikhin-Turaev invariants.
